Emirates Group Reports $1.1 Billion Profit Despite Regional Challenges

Despite rising fuel costs and ongoing conflicts in the Gulf region, Emirates Group has managed to remain profitable, reporting a pre-tax profit of $1.1 billion for the first half of its 2026-2027 financial year.

The group's revenue reached $18 billion, down 12% compared to the same period last year, while pre-tax profit fell by 66% to AED 4.1 billion ($1.1 billion).

Emirates Airline contributed $1 billion in pre-tax profit, while its ground services and travel services subsidiary, dnata, reported $112 million.

Speaking about the results, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and CEO of Emirates Airline and Emirates Group, described the past six months as particularly challenging. He highlighted strong passenger demand and cargo performance as key factors supporting the group's financial resilience.

One of the biggest challenges has been fuel costs. Global jet fuel prices doubled compared to the same period last year, putting considerable pressure on operating costs and profitability. Despite this, Emirates managed to maintain healthy revenue and cash reserves.

Looking ahead, the group remains cautiously optimistic about the second half of the financial year. It plans to continue investing in new aircraft, cabin upgrades and projects designed to improve the customer experience, while keeping safety, quality and customer satisfaction at the forefront.

The message is clear: despite geopolitical uncertainty and rising costs, Emirates is relying on its strong financial position and long-term strategy to navigate another challenging period.
